Risks Of Using Vagisil

While Vagisil is commonly linked to the treatment of yeast infections, it is actually not a treatment for the yeast overgrowth. In fact, Vagisil offers many different feminine products, from wipes, moisturizers and washes and anti itch cream. While Vagasil targets the symptoms of a yeast infection, it does not treat the cause.

Lifestyle Changes That Support Medical Yeast Infection Treatment

While taking yeast infection medication, certain lifestyle changes can help relieve symptoms and prevent worsening symptoms. These include:

  • Keeping your genital area clean and dry
  • Wearing loose-fitting underwear, pants, or shorts to prevent irritation and sweating, which can lead to the growth of more yeast
  • Promptly changing out of wet bathing suits or exercise clothing, and washing sweat-covered or wet clothes after each use
  • Keeping your blood sugar level under control if you have diabetes

Natural Remedies For Yeast Infections

Vagisil Cream For Yeast Infection

If you think an all-natural alternative for the cure of yeast infections would be better for you, there are various options easily available.

Aloe vera has scientifically proven anti-fungal components. You can apply some aloe gel on your vulva for immediate alleviation of the itching. If fresh aloe vera is within reach, dont use the gel. Use the pulp from the leaves instead.

A 2017 study demonstrated that eating Greek yogurt can reduce yeast in the body. So consuming Greek yogurt can help keep your yeast levels low or help alleviate a yeast overgrowth.

Boric acid is a topic antiseptic that the Center for Disease Control recommends for the treatment of vaginal infections. Although this is recommended as a complimentary treatment to an anti-fungal medication.

Coconut oil also has proven anti-fungal properties that can be effective against candida. It is important to only use pure organic varieties. You can apply directly to the infected area.

Using Natural Remedies For A Vaginal Yeast Infection

If you use antifungal creams and suppositories, you cannot avoid contact with potentially irritating and toxic compounds used to preserve them or improve texture.

If you prefer an all natural remedy for a yeast infection, you can choose from a variety of options, such as coconut oil, tea tree oil or aloe vera.

My personal favorite is aloe vera. Its got scientifically proven antifungal qualities and gives immediate effects.

You can make aloe vera suppositories using aloe vera gel with only natural ingredients, such as Aubrey Organics Pure Aloe Vera Gel.

If you want to make your aloe vera suppositories, follow these easy steps:

  • Use an ice cube tray, with small and round cavities
  • Mix 1 ounce of aloe gel with 8 ounces of coconut oil in a bowl
  • Pour the mixture into the tray and leave it in the freezer
  • Once solid, insert one suppository overnight
  • Dont forget to use a pad, as it may leak!

In the meantime, you can apply some aloe vera gel on your vulva for instant relief from itching. If youve got access to fresh aloe vera, use the pulp from its leaves instead of aloe vera gel.

Conditions That Can Mimic A Yeast Infection

Six possible causes of symptoms that may masquerade as yeast infections include:

  • Sexually transmitted infections : Some STIs can cause irritation and present with an itchy discharge and a slight odor. These include trichomoniasis, herpes and genital warts.
  • A skin reaction or allergy: Some sanitary products can cause a reaction, as can feminine hygiene products, bath soap, or even a change in laundry soap.
  • Lack of estrogen: As women age, lack of estrogen causes the skin to thin, and this sometimes leads to discomfort, itching or discharge. Vaginal lubricants or a small dose of estrogen can help in this case.
  • Hemorrhoids: The itching generally associated with hemorrhoids can also cause itching or irritation in the vaginal area.
  • Other skin conditions: There are some skin conditions that can cause skin changes, such as whitening and itching. These may require a steroid ointment such as hydrocortisone for treatment.
  • Small cuts: Even something as simple as a small cut can itch and feel irritated as it is healing.
  • If you arent getting relief from the usual measures, or you arent quite sure of the diagnosis, its worth a trip to the office to get checked out, says Dr. Zanotti. Call your doctor to be sure youre addressing any problems with appropriate treatment.

    What About Using Non

There are many OTC products targeted toward vaginal issues, like itchiness and irritation. Its important to read the labels carefully. Many wipes, ointments, and gels may only help you get temporary relief but wont actually treat the infection itself.

Experts recommend avoiding natural remedies and other non-antifungal products for yeast infections, with one notable exception. For people who experience frequent or hard-to-treat yeast infections, healthcare providers may sometimes prescribe boric acid if all other yeast infection medicines have failed. This product would need to be made by a compounding pharmacy its not recommended to try it on your own.

How Do You Insert Vaginal Yeast Infection Cream?

Using an anti-itch cream is fine, if you also use an OTC treatment. Dr. Brandye notes that shes seen women use only the anti-itch treatment thinking that itll treat whatever is causing the itching, which can delay someone getting treatment for the underlying infection. Anti-itch creams may soothe your symptoms, but youre going to be using that tube of cream forever and a half if you think itll do anything to treat your infection.

    Who Is Feminine Hygiene For

    Glad you asked.

The term feminine implies that feminine hygiene products are for people assigned female at birth or have a femme gender identity or presentation. But thats not true.

These products are designed for vulvas and vaginas, regardless of a persons sex, gender identity, or gender presentation.

A more accurate marketing and categorization term would be to call these vulvavaginal products.

Can I Use Vagisil With Monistat

While Vagisil and Monistat do not interact, it may be best to not use them together. Monistats product insert says that it should not be used with any other vaginal products because they may interfere with its effectiveness. Another thing to note is that using Vagisil with Monistat may make it difficult to see if Monistat is working to treat a yeast infection. Vagisil could cover up yeast infection side effects. If Monistat is ineffective and it is hard to tell, it could delay seeking medical care. However, it is best to consult a healthcare provider to see if it is okay to use these two products together based on individual circumstances.

Is Vagisil Any Good For Candida

Vagistat by Vagisil Vaginal Antifungal Yeast Infection Treatment, 1 ...

    by Eric Bakker N.D.

Is Vagisil any good for candida? So Vagisil, the cream that women often use, some guys are known to use it, but it contains a small percentage of an anesthetic, likely benzocaine, I think it is in there. And theres also an antiseptic kind of agent in there. Just a couple of percent, just trying to read the name on that, Resorcinol, or not Veritrol, but something quite tricky like that. A compound thats made and its the same compound thats used in Clearasil, in fact, in acne treatment. So it makes you wonder why youd use it, sort of there and there kind of thing. So, a lot of people claim to get good effects with it. I really dont think its the right way to go for a yeast infection, a vaginal yeast infection.

    Further readings:

Ive never seen a case yet that cant be cleared up, but Ive met many people who dont think they can clear it up and keep resorting back to these kind of products like Vagisil. Which you dont really need, right? You may want to use them sort of symptomatically, if youre traveling or something, but youre far better off ditching this sort of stuff and looking at a natural way to get rid of this problem, 100% once and for all, by looking for the causes and youll find them.
