Gum Abscess Vs Tooth Abscess

How I Healed My Tooth Infection Without Antibiotics! Dentists HATE this video.

An abscess is a pocket of pus that develops due to an extensive bacterial infection. Your dentist will use x-rays, physical examination, and a description of your pain and other symptoms to diagnose which kind of abscess you have.

There are 3 types of dental abscesses:

  • Periapical/tooth abscess: Abscess formed at the tip of a tooth root as a result of deep cavities/tooth decay or trauma sometimes called an endodontic abscess.
  • Gum/periodontal abscess: Abscess in the gums often caused by gum disease. May lead to bone loss.
  • Combined abscess: Abscesses at the tooth root and in the gums will sometimes join to form a combined periodontal-endodontic abscess.
  • Its difficult to tell the difference between the types of abscess yourself. But there are a few ways to determine the difference.

    Periapical abscesses tend to cause:

    • Deep, aching pain that refers up and down on the same side of your mouth and jaw
    • Positional pain thats worse when you lay down
    • Extreme sensitivity to hot and cold

    Periodontal abscesses tend to cause:

    • A boil on the gums that may get larger or smaller
    • Itching and inflammation around the abscess
    • Bad taste in the mouth
    • Popping or draining of the abscess
    • No positional pain, referred pain, or hot/cold sensitivity

What relieves pain for a gum abscess may not relieve tooth abscess pain, and vice versa.

Can You Take Goldenseal While Pregnant

Taking Goldenseal while pregnant should be avoided since

    • It causes jaundice in newborns
    • It causes premature birth
    • It causes low birth weight

Goldenseal intake while pregnant is not advised. Berberine, one of the primary active ingredients in goldenseal, has been related to decreased mass in women and newborns in animal research. Berberine may also start causing uterine contractions, which may increase the risk of premature birth.

According to animal studies, berberine may also start causing or worsening newborn jaundice, potentially resulting in brain cells damage.

To reduce thick nasal release due to sinus infection, take a dosage of 5 pellets of a 6C Goldenseal.

This dosage should be kept moderate. At the moment, its uncertain what recommended dose of goldenseal will indeed result in an overdose or what the impacts of such an opioid might be.

Goldenseal is said to act in living beings as an alternative, which is a term used by herbals to describe compounds that progressively generate beneficial physiological changes by boosting natural patient recovery.

    Understanding The Root Canal Procedure

The root canal procedure entails removing the infected pulp and nerve material inside the tooth, then filling and sealing the root canals. During the treatment, the dentist will clean the insides of the tooth properly and fill it with a rubber-like material known as gutta-percha. Afterward, the dentist will apply a temporary dental crown or filling to protect the tooth because a treated tooth is vulnerable to damage.

Patients will need to avoid chewing or biting hard foods with the treated tooth until the restoration process is complete. A follow-up visit is required after the treatment. During this appointment, the dentist will take off the temporary filling or crown and replace it with a permanent dental crown to complete the treatment.

It Might Help Detox Your Body From Drugs

Some folks think goldenseal can help your body detox from nasty toxins and substances. Theres little evidence to back this up, but its definitely not your average detox tea scam.

Your body is actually designed to naturally detox itself and makes harmful substances exit your body through your pee and sweat.

But there is research that suggests the berberine in goldenseal may reduce the activity of specific liver enzymes responsible for the breakdown of drugs. This *might* help with passing a drug test, but supplements may also slow down the detox process. Some drug tests can also detect goldenseal in urine.

So dont bank of goldenseal helping you get any cannabis out of your system.

Kelp Also Helps Promote Dental Health

Although technically not an herb but an alga, kelp has been long regarded as an excellent source of trace minerals for the teeth and the body, and it serves to reduce plaque as well. Until recently, studies substantiating the effectiveness of kelp against plaque could only reveal that it does work, but not why it works.

That is, until a 2012 study at Newcastle University in the UK found that Bacillus licheniformis, a bacteria that lives on the surface of kelp, is the hero here. When these bacteria are ingested and die, they produce a special amylase enzyme that destroys the biofilm that otherwise forms dental plaque. Kelp is very easy to feed you only need to add ¼ to ½ teaspoon per day to your pets food. Results are usually seen within one month.

Adding the healing properties of these herbs to your dog or cats dental health protocol will help keep minimize discomfort while enhancing the health of his teeth and gums and keep his breath sweeter!

    Urinary Tract And Yeast Infections

Goldenseal is a common herbal remedy for urinary tract infections and yeast infections.

Cell studies suggest that berberine, one of the main active compounds in goldenseal, may protect your body against various bacteria and fungi .

For instance, berberine may stop bacteria from sticking to the walls of your bladder, potentially preventing or helping treat a UTI .

Berberine is also believed to keep Candida albicans, a fungus thats naturally present in the human body, from multiplying in excess .

When present in normal numbers, Candida poses no health issues. However, when present in excessive amounts, this fungus can cause vaginal yeast infections, oral thrush, skin rashes, and UTIs .

In one study, people with recurrent UTIs given a mix of herbal extracts containing berberine were less likely to experience another UTI than those given no berberine .

Although the results from this study seem promising, no human studies have directly examined the effect of goldenseal on UTIs or yeast infections to date. Therefore, more studies are needed before strong conclusions can be made.

    How To Prevent Dental Abscesses

Best Treatment For Tooth Abscess – Cure Your Abscess Naturally At Home

Preventing dental abscesses involves good dental care and oral hygiene. To prevent tooth and periodontal abscesses:

    • Brush your teeth at least twice every day with a remineralizing toothpaste like RiseWell to support remineralization and prevent cavities.
    • Use an electric toothbrush if you can. Sonic toothbrushes are best for gum disease.
    • Floss every day. Flossing with a piece of knotted floss can dislodge food from between teeth that could otherwise lead to concentrated areas of bacteria.
    • Dont skip dental checkups. These 6-month teeth cleanings are important for removing plaque and tartar buildup as well as spotting tooth decay or signs of gum disease before they lead to an abscess. If you have been diagnosed with periodontal disease, be sure to keep up with your quarterly scaling & root planing appointments.

Detoxing Or Passing A Drug Test

Some believe that goldenseal can help your from toxins and harmful substances. Yet, very little evidence exists to support this claim.

Your body is naturally designed to detoxify itself. It does so by converting toxic compounds into harmless substances in your liver or making sure theyre eliminated from your body through urine and sweat .

Research suggests that goldenseal may reduce the activity of certain liver enzymes responsible for breaking down drugs. As such, this herbal supplement may slow the detox process rather than promote it .

However, theres also evidence that goldenseal may help your body get rid of certain drugs more quickly through the urine. Because of this, some believe goldenseal may help hide the use of illegal drugs to pass a drug test .

Keep in mind that newer drug testing methods are now able to detect the use of goldenseal in urine samples, reducing the likelihood of a false negative result on a drug test .

While goldenseals detoxifying potential may depend on the type of toxin or harmful substance at hand, more studies are needed to confirm this.

If you recently had a kidney infection, the health care professional will often repeat urine cultures after your treatment ends to make sure your infection has completely gone away and has not come back. If a repeat test shows infection, you may take another round of antibiotics. If your infection comes back again, he or she may prescribe antibiotics for a longer time period.

If your health care professional prescribes antibiotics, take all of the antibiotics as prescribed and follow the advice of the health care professional. Even if you start to feel better, you should finish all of your medicine.
